Friday, Sept. 7th – OPENING NIGHT *FREE* SCREENING of “Twittamentary” at Usr/Lib.

7PM

It’s a 64 minute feature documentary about Twitter. Filmmaker Tan Siok Siok took went on a road trip from New York to Los Angeles and crowd-sourced stories and videos from her experiences on the road. “Twittamentary” will be accompanied by TweetBeam Twitter wall. You are actually encouraged to ‘tweet’ during the film.

LOCATION: The Usr/Lib is at 520 E. Fremont Street., SECOND FLOOR, Las Vegas, NV 89101

It’s in the Emergency Arts Building at Fremont & 6th Street. You will see The Beat coffee house is downstairs.

 

Saturday, Sept. 8th – MAIN DAY of FESTIVAL

 


All films ‘in competition’ will screen on Saturday, September 8 at The Mirage Hotel & Casino.

There are two screening rooms in Bermuda A and Bermuda B. Both rooms are beside each other near the start of the Convention Center and across from The Roasted Bean coffee shop. Bermuda rooms are just passed the Kardashian store. Aren’t we lucky? : )

BERMUDA A

In Bermuda A almost all films are feature documentaries. “InContact” is a Narrative Fetaure Film.

9:30AM – Opening Remarks by Founder Ross H. Martin. Introduction by Presenting Sponsor, LeClairRyan.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:    Joseph Dumont, Producer of “The Naked Brand” will talk about branding & social media

BERMUDA B

Bermuda B will screen two feature documentaries, one narrative feature film and a shorts program. There are also two panels taking place in this room.

9:30AM – DOORS OPEN *Depending on seats available in you might be able to view Keynote Speaker at 9:30AM in Bermuda A. Then you will have to quickly return to Bermuda B if watching “Bringing King To China.”

Saturday Night AFTER-PARTY 

After a full day of films and panels, it’s time to get down & dirty! We will leave The Mirage and head down the street to The Bikini Bar. A bunch of light punk bands are playing including the all-girls band, The Dirty Panties.

Sunday, Sept. 9th

Indie Film Factory is a brand new studio that filmmakers can rent for various projects. IFF also has workshops. They will be doing a workshop on Directing out of their studio at 3pm. *Festival attendees able to show SMFF Passes can attend for FREE!

Sunday Night – CLOSING PARTY

 

As the birth of Social Media Film Festival took place with a launch party at The Royal House, we will come full circle by having our Closing Party here. 

We will be screening one last film early in the evening at 6:30PM. It’s FREE! “craigslistjoe”  In a time when America’s economy and sense of community were crumbling, one guy left everything behind – to see if he could survive solely on the support of the 21st century’s new town square: Craigslist.

From 9pm-11pm Lucky Cuss will will electrify you with their guitar-rock infused electronica.

The Royal House is a lounge inside The Royal Resort.
